Systematic design of instructional courseware, including analysis, media selection, design, development and evaluation. Learning principles, learner characteristics, instructional strategies, screen design, response analysis, feedback and interactivity.

Identify, critique and effectively use a variety of instructional strategies for different learning goals.  Develop and implement lessons in different instructional contexts.  Utilize appropriate instructional technology to meet the needs of learners.

IDT 550: PRACTICUM IN INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY

Semester 5 - Spring  2021

Strategies for effectively implementing and evaluating instructional design and technology to improve learning; includes significant field work assignments in work-related settings.  

IDT 597: PROJECT

Individual research on an empirical project, with conferences with the instructor, culminating in a project.  

IDT 540: SYSTEMATIC APPROACHES TO DIGITAL DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT 

Semester 4 - Fall 2020

This course focuses on the design, development, and implementation of web pages and of websites for instructional purposes.  Emphasis is placed on issues surrounding using the internet for instruction.

IDT 545: EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES AND ISSUES IN TEACHING 

Semester 4 - Fall 2020

This course focuses on the theoretical basis, issues, and strategies for improving teaching and learning through the use of emerging technologies.
